Sarah and Joseph’s wedding was filled with fun events and memorable experiences. They were fully present and connected to their friends, family and each other. Sarah and Joseph become husband and wife that day, and were over-the-moon about starting a life together.
At the reception, Sarah included a few traditions to honour her heritage, including a Dutch wishing tree that enabled family and friends to write on a tag their best wishes for the couple. These tags were then hanged on various branches, filling the tree with well-wishes. Sarah is from North Carolina, so to honour her southern heritage, a “Southern bridal portrait” was framed and on display at the entrance to the reception hall. Bridal portraits originated in Europe, and the tradition eventually made its way across the Atlantic and below the Mason-Dixon line. Today, the bridal portrait is a long-standing Southern wedding tradition. They represent a rite of passage to Southern debs & belles alike.
Highlights of the day included: dozens of pretty paper lanterns, two stunning wedding gowns, and one gorgeous Cake Studio cake, which together added up to one fun-filled reception. The Danny Kramer Event Band played at the reception, providing an amazing night of dancing and singing. Danny Kramer invited guests to take centre stage with the band and belt out a song Karaoke style. What an awesome idea!
Sarah and Joseph’s wedding was the start of a marriage, the continuation of a journey, and a promise to see their adventure through no matter where it takes them. Click here to view all of Sarah & Joseph’s photos.
