Kristina & Eric – Winnipeg Wedding Photography

Just as the groom and his entourage arrived at Kristina’s parents home for the first look, they flagged down a passing ice cream truck to enjoy a quick treat. Moments later, Kristina appeared on the front lawn and looked absolutley radiant in a stunning Justin Alexander wedding gown from Stella’s Bridal. Eric was speechless when he caught a glimpse of Kristina for the very first time. Kristina and Eric were high school sweethearts who dated since grade twelve. We have known Kristina since she was two and were absolutely delighted to be part of this exceptional young woman’s wedding day. One of Kristina and Eric’s favourite spots is the Leo Mol Garden, so much so, both the proposal and ceremony took place there. Kristina’s niece, Annalilja, was the flower girl and walked the “ring dog” down that aisle. The reception was hosted by the Hotel Fort Garry and held in their spectacular Crystal Ballroom. The gorgeous flowers were arranged by Deb and Gloria at Floral Elements and the delicious cake was prepared by Nina at Cake Studio. Congratulations to Kristina, Eric and their families. Click here to view all of Kristina & Eric’s wedding photos.

Pamela & Ernie (Taso) – Winnipeg Wedding Photography

Pamela is incredibly vivacious with an incredibly effervescent personality. Ernie is a perfect gentleman, always attentive to Pamela.  Together, they are a perfect couple – and what else would you expect from the perfect couple, but a perfect wedding? Following a beautiful Greek wedding ceremony, the wedding party made its way to the grounds of the Legislative Building to begin a fun filled photo shoot. At the fountain, the men showed off their bright pink socks which matched the girls’ pink flowers. You always have time for Tim Horton’s, and today was no exception as we stopped in for iced caps before heading over to a beautiful cocktail party in the gardens of the St. Charles Golf & Country Club. Pamela and Ernie’s ballroom dancing classes paid off as they looked elegant during their first dance. Click here to view all of Pamela & Ernie’s wedding photos.

Amanda & Michael – Winnipeg Wedding Photography

After meeting Amanda and Michael at Jodi and William’s wedding over a year ago, and shooting their engagement photos at Ikea, we were looking forward to capturing this fun-loving couple’s wedding day. Michael’s father’s old Chevy Impala was featured  in a few of the photos as the couple was chauffeured away after the ceremony. Later on we spent some time at the Hydro Building before making our way to the pub for a few pre-reception beverages. Amanda and Michael’s reception featured a giant scrabble game which challenged family and guests to create a word in order to have the couple kiss. A number of board games were also available for guests to enjoy throughout the evening. Thanks for including Rygiel Photography & Video in your wedding day. Click here to view all of Amanda & Michael’s wedding photos.

Kelsey & Joel – Megatron Attacks!

We were enjoying Kelsey & Joel’s wedding day photo shoot when, without provocation, Megatron attacked! Despite our horror, we were able to snap this photo as we ran for cover. We were ultimately rescued in the nick of time by Optimus Prime. He’s our hero!

Be the One Who Helps – Anti-Homophobia PSA

A video team from Shaughnessy Park School, along with Luke Scantlebury, won the grand prize in the Rise Against Homophobia Youth Short Video Contest. The judges believe the video entitled “Be the One Who Helps” demonstrates a particular brand of exceptionality.
The award was presented at the Fierce, Fabulous and Under 25 Youth Gala, that took place on August 23 as part of the Vancouver Queer Film Festival, in Vancouver BC.

I guess there’s no wonder why the video won the contest. It is really great. The story seems simple and short yet it really speaks a lot of things about homophobia.
