Collège Sturgeon Heights Grad 2012

Carmen’s grade 4 class from 2004 graduated today. This wonderful group of students has kept in touch and many have volunteered over the years in her classroom and at École Assiniboine. Aside from being outstanding students, they are humanitarians, having participated in fundraising efforts for various causes. It was a pleasure for Carmen to have them in her class and to watch them develop into their talents. These amazing students have bright futures ahead and are ready for the next chapter in their lives! Congratulations to Breanne who delivered a touching toast to the parents at the grad dinner. To view all the photos from this event click here.

Oh — there are Murray and Sandi with Beth!!! I don’t think they could be prouder. I love Beth’s dress – she was stunning in it.

Shannon & Todd – Wedding Photography in Winnipeg

Shannon and Todd were married on the most beautiful day of the year so far – the skies were blue and the sun was brilliant. Shannon and Todd’s story began at Celebrations Dinner Theatre where Todd worked as a performer and Shannon worked in the box office. Todd was masterful at creating excuses for making his way over to the box office area, where he could capture of glimpse of the dream girl he couldn’t muster the courage to speak with. Eventually, Todd summoned the moxie and the rest, at they say, is history. Fast forward eight years and today Todd works for Canad Inns as a marketing manager and married his dream girl at the St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church. During the ceremony, Shannon and Todd wore wreaths and their hands were wrapped in an embroidered linen cloth symbolizing how they became one. Canad Inns served up an outstanding Ukrainian meal consisting of: turkey, stuffing, perogies, meatballs, and holopchi. Click here to view all of Shannon & Todd’s wedding photos.

Chantal & Joshua – Wedding Photography in Falcon Lake

Chantal and Joshua met while attending St. John’s-Ravenscourt School and dated for eight years despite being separated for two years while Chantal attended school at Queen’s University. They are both cottagers and share many wonderful memories together at the lake. It was no surprise that Joshua chose to propose marriage to Chantal while they were boating on the lake. The lake theme continued as they shared their nuptials and celebrated their reception at the Joshua’s parents’ cabin at Falcon Lake. It rained all morning long and stopped just before the ceremony was to begin. Chantal and Joshua exchanged unique rings designed by Bijou Treasures. Their grandparents signed as witnesses at the touching ceremony. Chantal and Joshua chose one of their favourite spots for their photo shoot – a cliff overlooking the lake. Their wedding party was comprised of siblings and close friends who proved very entertaining. Jordan, in particular, shared humorous anecdotes of his days as a much sought after model; featured frequently on university websites. One of the many highlights of the day featured Sommelier Sylvia Jansen of Banville and Jones Wine Company. She practices the art of sabrage – a technique for opening a champagne bottle with a sabre. Both Chantal and Joshua had a turn at sabering a champagne bottle. If you look closely at the photo in the collage, you’ll notice that Mitchell’s photo actually caught the cork and collar of the bottle in flight as Chantal struck the bottle with the sabre. Kaitlyn & Cole – Winnipeg Wedding Photography

It poured rain all day long, but just in time for their evening ceremony, the clouds disappeared and the sun came out. It was a good thing, as Kaitlyn & Cole exchanged vows at the Leo Mol Garden in Assiniboine Park. For two guys that aren’t fans of having their picture taken, we sure had a lot of laughs with Cole and his best man Kyle. On the other hand, Kaitlyn and her sister Tammy are naturals in front of a camera and could have posed all night long. Kaitlyn’s a very modern bride who carried a very unique paper flower bouquet she found on Etsy. Her spectacular wedding gown was from Stella’s Bridal & Evening Collections. The reception was held at Winnipeg’s hottest new venue, the Qualico Family Centre. Instead of a typical dinner, the couple opted for hors d’oeuvres which included: coconut shrimp, Thai chicken, spanakopita, french fries, baked brie, nachos, and many more delicious snacks. What a treat! Click here to view all of Kaitlyn & Cole’s photos.

The Dance Centre – Winnipeg Dance Photography

The Dance Centre is an institution in St. James thanks to Joanne and her amazing crew of instructors. With The Dance Centre’s recital just one week away, staff and students gathered for a day long photo shoot. When they weren’t posing for photos, some dancers rehearsed their routines in preparation for the big event. Rygiel is happy to photograph these outstanding athletes and we look forward to next week’s recital!
